The Lawrence P. Cohen Memorial Scholarship foundation, a registered 501c3 organization (#39-2592180), was launched in June of 2025. The scholarships were created to provide critical funds for high school age students, helping to offset the costs for 2 year and four year college tuitions. The board, run by Larry's sons Neil and Michael, have established a generous and aggressive goal to provide two scholarships on an annual basis. The board's mission is to fund and award a scholarship each year for students who have overcome specific adversity in their academic pursuits. Those areas of adversity are IEP based learning disabilities and pediatric cancer. The board and its members will establish the selection criteria and be ready to offer the first annual awards in 2026
