Dear Scholarship Applicant,

The Lawrence P. Cohen Memorial Scholarship Foundation is pleased to invite applications for its annual scholarship program, established to honor the legacy of Lawrence P. Cohen and his lifelong belief in perseverance, integrity, and the transformative power of education. Applications must be received no later than May 1, 2026.

To be eligible, an applicant’s educational journey must have been shaped by either survival of pediatric cancer or overcoming a documented learning disability with the support of an Individualized Education Plan (I.E.P.).

Purpose of the Scholarship
The Foundation recognizes that academic success is not defined solely by traditional
metrics, but by character, effort, and growth. This award seeks to invest in students who have faced extraordinary challenges, persevered through them, and emerged with a commitment to personal development, educational achievement, and service to others.

Scholarship Award
The Foundation will award two (2) scholarships in the amount of $10,000 each, awarded on
a one-time, non-renewable basis—one to a pediatric cancer survivor and one to a student with a documented learning difference. Scholarship funds may be used for tuition, room and board, books, fees, or other direct educational expenses. Awards will be paid directly to the recipient’s educational institution, unless otherwise determined by the Foundation.
